Sholes is a touchscreen phone with QWERTY keypad and is powered by Android. Motorola had moved to Android by skipping Windows Mobile in order to "cut costs". Now, details of Motorola's Android based Sholes have surfaced on Motofan.ru, a Russian site. Motorola Sholes will support CDMA and EVDO Rev A networks and will have a 3.7-inch touchscreen. This phone is expected to debut via Verizon network in October for U.S. markets but no further details were available on its pricing.

After the details about Android based handsets Iron Man and Heron were leaked out, Motorola formally announced Heron as Karma QA1 where no details about the mobile operating system were revealed. Next Android based phone from Motorola is dubbed Sholes that will have a 3.7-inch slider touch screen that has 480x854 resolution. The slide out screen resembles that of the T-Mobile G1 phone. This phone will also sport a full QWERTY keypad along with the touchscreen so obviously, landscape to portrait screen rotation will take place.

Motorola Sholes will feature 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, 512MB Flash Memory, 256MB RAM, will support up to 16GB microSD or microSDHC card and GPS. Apart from CDMA and EVDO Rev A network support, Motorola adds the much needed WiFi support for connectivity.
